Pre-Colonial Documents

While the Colonial period arguably began in 1492, it wasn't until 1607 that the first permanent English colony was established at Jamestown.

For the purposes of this website, we arbitrarily date the Pre-Colonial period as anything before the founding of Jamestown.

Additionally, we're generally interested in those activities and documents pertaining to what we now know as North America and documents that influenced the Founding in some way.

Accordingly, the documents in this category generally fall in the period prior to the establishment of the first English colony in the North America.
