Federal Government Services and Communications – Constitutional Language Rights

August 27, 2019

So you’re planning a trip and need to renew
your passport? No problem! Services and communications must be offered in English at all central offices of the federal government. The same goes for other offices as long as there’s a high enough demand in a specified region, for example, a post office in an area where English is the minority language. Some services will be offered in English regardless of demand because of their pancanadian nature of the service itself, like at airports, at the border and at national parks. It’s just one less thing to worry about, even though the government can’t help you if you forget your swimsuit.
