Intex 18ft X 10ft X 42in Oval Frame Pool Set (7,000 gallons) Purchased from US Amazon in June 2016. Cost was $325 and included shipping. Pool shipping weight 135 lbs $325 pool set included: 18×10 ft pool, electric powered filter pump, ladder and 20×12 tarp/ground cover. It does not include salt water system. Before laying the tarp/ground cover, I raked the ground and used a blower to remove sticks and other debris. Our yard sloped a bit and had in-ground sprinklers, but it wasn’t a problem. We chose the salt water option (not chlorine) and purchased the Intex 120V Krystal Clear Saltwater System CG-28669 with E.C.O. (Electrocatalytic Oxidation) for Above Ground Pools for $133 USD on Amazon. This pool only requires the 7,000 gallon system. The filter pump & salt water system require power/grounded outlet (GFCI Outlet, GFCI Receptacle). The filter hoses connect to the two LOWER holes in the side wall of the pool. I used a Christmas light timer for the pump and filter and run it 4 hours a day. Fun fact: The method by which a salt-chlorine generator works is that it applies a process of electrolysis to the dissolved salt in the water as it passes through a pool’s filter system. This electrolysis takes away the ‘sodium’ part of salt and what is left is chloride, or chlorine. The inflatable ring around the top of the pool took 15 minutes to inflate manually. Buy an electric pump. A standard bicycle pump won’t work Total Cost: Pool $325; Saltwater system $133; Solar pool cover $29; Salt (2 x 40 lbs bags); $22 Skimmer net and $12 TOTAL $521 Using one hose, it took 6 hours to fill completely. The pool cover really helped heat up the water. Ground prep time: 20 minutes. Assemble time: 2 hours. Fill time: 6 hours (one hose). The best $521 we’ve spent in a long time. Update 07.13.16: After a little over a month, the water is still clear as ever. I haven’t added any additional salt since day one. Update: 08.17.16 After two months, the pool is still as clear as day one. I’ve only added salt during setup and nothing since. Cleaned the filter twice. Price fluctuates in the US. Best time to buy is winter. Use to check historical prices on Amazon.
